Brown’s is excited to be supporting the TeamBrowns rally team at this year’s 50th running of the iconic Beatson’s Building Supplies Mull Rally. The Mull Rally sees over 150 cars competing on closed road stages during October and is a highlight of the Mull year.
TeamBrowns consists of Driver and car owner Doug Weir, who has been competing in the Mull Rally since 1992, and local born Co-driver Duncan brown, who has previously spent several years on the organising side of the Rally. Together Doug and Duncan first came together as TeamBrowns in 1998, with sponsorship support from Duncan’s Mum Olive when she ran Brown’s shop. The Team have scooped numerous class wins and top 10 finishing positions.
Moira the Mk2 Escort is the chosen car for this escapade – she left the Ford Halewood factory in 1976 and was rebuilt into a high-spec rally car in 2004 by Doug Weir and friends. Boasting a powerful Vauxhall-based 2.0 litre engine and sequential gearbox, she’s looks old and classic but she packs a punch.
Rumour has it that the 2022 Rally will be the last for this team, and we are delighted to be supporting them for this final run. Good luck to car 24!
